From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed:
With the cessation of the tri-weekly "D'Artagnan" on the 4th of July, 1868, Dumas lost no time in launching his next, and final, journalistic effort, under his own control. This was the weekly "Théâtre Journal." The first number appeared the day following the last part of "Le D'Artagnan," July 5th, 1868. It continued to appear regularly until Mardi 14th, 1869 (36 numbers).
Mr. R. S. Garnett states that Dumas was editor-in-chief of this journal from February 4th, 1868, till July 4th of the same year, that is for five months previous to it becoining his own possession. This looks as though, when he acquired the "Théâtre Journal," Dumas at once ceased the tri-weekly. which may well have been becoming burdensome to the ageing writer.
