Another translation from Sappho, first to be found in "Le Monte-Cristo" under the date of January 7th, 1858, page 181.
Later in the same year it appeared in the article on "Sappho" supplied by Dumas to "Les Étoiles du Monde;" Paris, Garnier Frères, 1858, the verses being on pp. 296 and 297.
Dumas also quotes them in his "Souvenirs d'une Favorite," Chapter XLVIIL, as being sung by Lady Hamilton.
