From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: Twenty-nine regular four-line stanzas, rhyming alternately.
Dumas was at this time publishing a translation of Lytton's "Harold, the Last of the Saxon Kings," in the pages of his "Le Monte-Cristo." He never finished his version. The verses in question are a rendering of those in Book II., Chapter ii., and they appeared in the number for May 28th, 1857, pp. 89 and 90.
They do not seem ever to have been reprinted.
