Le Capitaine Rhino

conte/short story, pub:1872

From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed:
     LE CAPITAINE RHINO.
     LE LION PÈRE DE FAMILLE.
     LA CHASSE AU TIGRE.
These three stories were only stated to be "Publié par Alexandre Dumas."
The first two were translated for and appeared in "Le D'Artagnan," and Mr. Garnett points out that they were stated to be by "A Gentleman Tourist." whereas actually they had been published anonymously in the "Temple Bar Magazine."
"Le Capitaine Rhino" and "Le Lion Père de Famille" then appeared first in "Le D'Artagnan" in 1868.
Original edition of the three stories, under the title of the first : Paris, Michel Lévy Frères, 1 vol., 12mo., 1872.
They now form one volume in the standard Calmann-Lévy series (still under the title of the first of the three), and also one in that firm's "Musée Littéraire."
In Le Vasseur's "Alexandre Dumas Illustré" they are all to be found in Vol. XX.
