Addio Teresa

vers/verse, pub:1837

From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed:
Four regular stanzas with lines of short length, rhyming alternately, and each followed by a brief four-line refrain in Italian, of which the first is " Addio Teresa," while the last three rhyme together.
"Addio Teresa" first appeared in "Le Monde Parisien" for the 5th of November, 1837. According to an article by Auguste Morel, it formed part of three connected romances bearing the title of "Souvenirs de Naples," the other two being "Lamento" and "Les Deux Cousines." (See page 77.)
"Addio Teresa, a Sicilian Song, Music by Hippolyte Monpou, for his friend Duprez," has been published by Bernard Latte, No. 2 Passage de l'Opéra, Boulevard des Italiens, Paris.
