     Two volumes of stories for children, of which some are from German and other sources, "La Petite Sirène" being certainly after a tale by Hans C. Andersen, and "Blanche de Neige" a well-known tale of the Brothers Grimm.

     "La Jeunesse de Pierrot" first appeared in "Le Mousquetaire" for December 10th to 19th, 1853. It was next issued as one of the volumes of the "Bibliothèque du Mousquetaire" in 1854, that being the original edition. (See page 309.)
     "Blanche de Neige," "La Petite Sirène," "Le Roi des Quilles," "Pierre et Son Oie," and "Le Sifflet Enchanté" all appeared first in "Le Monte-Cristo."
     "Le Père Gigogne" first appeared as a collection in the "Œuvres Complètes;" Paris, Michel Lévy Frères, 2 vols., 12mo., 1860.
     It still fills two volumes in the standard Calmann-Lévy edition. and one in their "Musée Littéraire."
     Le Vasseur's "Alexandre Dumas Illustré" includes it in Vol. XVII. with the other Children's Stories by Dumas.

         English Translations :—
     "The Enchanted Whistle" is contained in "The Golden Fairy Tale Book;" London, Hutchinson, 1894.
     "When Pierrot was Young " will be found in the "Dumas Fairy Tale Book," by H. A. Spurr; London, Warne, 1924.
