From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: A one-act comedy in prose. Glinel and Lecomte both say that this is the translation of a German play. If that is so, one may venture to suggest that in its process through Dumas' hands his skill improved it not a little.
As the one-act play which About saw ready for the post one morning, on Dumas' desk at Marseilles, and believed to be "L'Invitation à la Valse," could not be that (since it had been performed the previous year), M. Glinel suggests that it was in reality "L'Honneur est Satisfait."
First performed at the Gymnase Theatre on the 19th of June, 1858.
