As was to be expected, Dumas altered some details in his story to meet the needs of a stage representation.
First performed at the Ambigu Comique on the 1st of April, 1851.
Original edition : Paris, Tresse, 8vo. of two columns, 1851.
It is now included in Vol. VIII. of the 15 Vol. edition, and in Vol. XIII. of the 25 Vol. series of Calmann-Lévy. In the first of these, the 15 Vol. edition, all the four Monte Cristo plays are gathered into the one volume.
