From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: Four regular stanzas, each of four lines, rhyming alternately.
This piece has apparently not been published.
The MS. bears the inscription: "31st December, ten o'clock at night," and is signed: "Alex. Dumas."
It was sold from the collection Étienne Charavay, and was copied by Ernest Lemaitre, avocat, of Laon, in November, 1896, at the Theatrical and Musical Exhibition in the Champs Elysees, Paris.
No year is suggested by M. Glinel. It seems probable that it belonged to Dumas' later period.
