Marceau, ou Les Enfants de la République

drame/play, pub:1848

From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed:
A prose drama in five acts.
This piece was composed by MM. Anicet Bourgeois and Michel Masson. Dumas had nothing to do, apparently, with the construction, but the central idea of the piece was founded upon his "Blanche de Beaulieu, ou la Rose Rouge," so that mention is necessary in a bibliography devoted to him. It may be remarked that a great deal of extraneous matter has been grafted upon Dumas' straight-forward story, not to its advantage.
First performed at the Gaité Theatre on the 15th of August, 1848. Original edition : Paris, Michel Lévy Frères, 1848.
