This piece forms the fourteenth in the MS. "Préludes Poétiques " (pp. 129 to 134). It there bears this epigraph :—
"Et dans ma douce erreur je crus en peu d'instants
Que je t'aimais déjà depuis longtemps.
"Mme. Waldor."
It has been printed in " Le Livre : Revue du Monde Littéraire," Paris, Maison Quantin, number for October 10th, 1886, pp. 292-93.
Though undated, it must belong to 1830, or earlier, from its inclusion in "Préludes Poétiques."
