From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: Nine regular stanzas, each of six lines, rhyming a, a, b, c, c, b. Speaking of three small variants which he had noted, M. Glinel remarks :—
"They may be those which occurred in this piece as it was published in the 'Mercure de France au XIXe. Siècle,' 1829, Vol. XXV., p. 53."
It next appeared in "L'Almanach des Muses" for 1830.
The "Cabinet de Lecture" reprinted it on the 5th of January, 1830.
Finally M. Glinel reproduced it on pp. 256 to 258 of his "Alexandre Dumas et Son Œuvre."
