First appeared in "La Psyché" for 1829.
In 1830 it was in "L'Almanach des Dames."
It figures in the Album of Autographs of Mme. Mennessier-Nodier (see letter from that lady dated from Fontenay-aux-Roses, June 12th, 1886).
It also forms the sixteenth piece (pp. 139 to 146) of the MS. "Préludes Poétiques." There only it bears the following epigraph :
"Il est autour de nous des êtres invisibles
Nés d'un souffle idéal et cependant sensibles."
