From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: A prose drama in five acts and ten tableaux.
By Dumas and Maquet.
This forms the fourth and last drama drawn from the romance "Le Comte de Monte-Cristo."
It must be confessed that Dumas has made a very finely constructed drama out of material which presented many difficulties.
First performed at the Ambigu Comique on the 8th of May, 1851.
Original edition : Paris, Tresse, 8vo, of two columns, 1851.
It is now included with the other three dramas drawn from "Le Comte de Monte-Cristo" in Vol. VIII. of the 15 Vol. edition issued by Calmann-Lévy. In the 25 Vol. series it is found in Vol. XIII.
