From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: These five letters were the outcome of Dumas' quarrel with M. Buloz and the Comédie Française, of which Buloz was at the time Commissioner Royal.
They first appeared in the "Démocratic Pacifique" towards the latter part of 1844.
As a separate pamphlet they appeared in Brussels, Hauman, 18mo., pp. 132,1844.
In France they have apparently never been issued as a separate work.
They may now be read in the final volume of the 25 Vol. edition of Calmann-Lévy's "Théâtre Complet," but they are not included in the series in 15 Vols.
