Dumas' third work of this character (the second was not printed, see pp. 351-52) ; in this case it was produced in collaboration with his old friend and first partner in literary work, de Leuven, as the title-page states.
The music was by M. Ambroise Thomas.
First performed at the Opéra Comique Theatre on the 4th of February, 1860.

It is now to be found in Vol. XIV. of the 15 Vol. edition of Calmann-Lévy, and in Vol. XXII. of their series in 25 Vols.
