Historical dramatic adaptation of Sir Walter Scott's The Scottish Puritans. Written in collaboration with Frédéric Soulié.
From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: A prose drama drawn from Walter Scott's "Old Mortality," by Dumas in collaboration with Frédéric Soulié.
The work was planned and commenced. Several sessions between the two authors followed, but the work apparently laboured heavily. It seems at least doubtful if it was ever completed, and it is now apparently quite lost. By Dumas' own avowal, however, he derived much help from his work with the more experienced playwright, and felt his grip upon methods much strengthened. This may well have been, since the period was that of his work on "Fiesque de Lavagna."
