"Le Marbrier, shown at the Vaudeville on May 22, 1854, was the product of many writers: de Goritz had translated one of Kotzebue's plays intended as a vehicle for Bocage the actor; the actor and his nephew had smoothed the translation; Brunswick composed a first version; Dumas then rewrote the whole play." -- from Genius of Life by Claude Schopp.
From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: A prose drama in three acts. Audebrand says that Paul Bocage collaborated in this piece. Lecomte says that both Lhérie and Bocage assisted. Dumas indicates slight aid from the former only.
Parigot speaks highly of this play, seldom heard mentioned to-day, and with some obvious astonishment at Dumas' strength with this class of production.
First performed at the Vaudeville Theatre on the 22nd of May, 1854.
