Grands hommes en robe de chambre: Henri IV, Louis XIII, et Richelieu
non-fiction, pub:1855, action:1553-1643
From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: One of Dumas' vivaciously handled works on historical subjects, drawn in the main part from the memoirs and other narratives of contemporaries.
Its period is plainly indicated by the titles ; the years concerned are 1553-1643.
It first appeared in "Le Mousquetaire," very irregularly, between the dates of January 4th and August 8th, 1855.
Original edition: Paris, Cadot, 5 vols., 8vo., 1856.
It now fills two volumes in the standard Calmann-Lévy edition.
In Le Vasseur's "Alexandre Dumas Illustré" it forms part of Vol. X.

(This bibliographer seems only to know of the work in the Michel Lévy edition, 2 vols., 12mo., 1866. He mentions also an edition by the same publishers of "Louis XIII. et Richelieu" alone, 1 vol., 1860.)
