From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: A comedy in five acts, in prose.
Signed by MM. Octave Feuillet, Paul Bocage and X X X. There seems every reason for the claim that Dumas had a hand in it, and it is certainly just the play in which his help would be of the utmost service with the plot. Audebrand, who was not over indulgent towards Dumas at the time he wrote his "Alexandre Dumas à la Maison d'Or," states quite definitely that the author of "Antony" put his hand to it, hence its smooth running.
First performed at the Odéon Théâtre on the 23rd of May, 1846.
Original edition: Paris, Jérôme, 1846, large 8vo., pp. 63; also Paris, Michel Lévy, same year, 12mo., English format.
Now a part of Vol. V. of the "Théâtre Complet" of Octave Feuillet; Paris, Calmann-Lévy, 1892-93.
