(real name Charles Jean-Baptiste Jacquot) published a scathing pamphlet Fabrique de Romans: Maison Alexandre Dumas & Cie which claimed that most of Dumas' work was written by other writers. Dumas successfully sued de Mirecourt, who was discredited and sentenced to a fortnight in prison for slander.
