The text of the contract:
Know all men by these present that
I Isaac Ballard of Killingly county of Windham and
State of Connecticut for the consideration of the
sum of Two Hundred & sixty two Dollars paid by
Hesekiah Cady of Glouster county of Providence and
State of Rhode Island have remised released and
quitclaimed and do by these present remise release
& quitclaim unto said Cady a certain tract or
parcel of land situated in the town of Burrillville
in said county of Providence containing about five
Hundred acres and is known by the name of the
Wilbur land reference being had to a Sheriffs Deed
from Jedediah Sprague to Hasael P. Clark and a
Sherriffs deed from Samuel P. Tucker to said Clark
also a deed from Ira P. Evans to said Clark for
a particular description of said land
To have and to hold all my right title and interest
in an unto the aforesaid premises to him the said
Hesekiah Cady his heirs and assigns forever In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand &
seal this 19th day of august [mark] 1850

foregoing installment and acknowledged the same to be
